Liam Ferguson

Product designer & developer

I design digital products and get them built.

I started out designing and building websites, then spent several years working on B2B ecommerce software. At Thrive, I’ve worked with engineering teams on an employee communications app and its web admin tools, from defining features to reviewing the finished build. I recently moved to Germany and am looking for my next product design role here.

Modernising B2B commerce management

I designed and built reusable patterns that made a large management product easier to navigate and easier to extend.

The challenge

Years of product growth had produced different navigation, tables and interaction patterns across the platform. Routine work took too many steps and new features introduced more inconsistency.

A structure that could grow

I reorganised the product and created shared patterns for tables, filters, bulk actions and focused tasks. The redesign could be introduced gradually alongside older areas.

Designing in the browser

Working as both designer and frontend developer let me resolve interaction details in working code and leave the engineering team with reusable foundations.
